Nominations for officers will be accepted at the October meeting immediately preceding voting for officers.
There will be a TRIALS SCHOOL September 10th starting at the club grounds. The school starts at 9:00am and will end about 4:00pm. Open riding will be permitted BUT!, avoid riding near where the school is being conducted. At about 5:00pm: Ryan Young (six time national champion) will perform a Trials Demo. Ryan is a talented rider and enjoys putting on a show.
A combined District 17 / MITA AMA sanctioned Observed Trials will be conducted at the club on Sun. Sept. 11th starting at 11:00am and ending about 4:00pm. No open riding will be allowed this day! About 20 volunteers are needed to help conduct this event. Each family member may earn up to 3 hours work time for helping. If you are willing to help, you need to be at the club about 10:30am for instructions and assignments. If you renewed your membership at the Sept. meeting - time will be recorded for the 05-06 year. If you need hours for membership renewal in October - time will be allotted towards that. If you only need fractional time to complete the requirement for the current year - excess time will be recorded for the next year when you renew in October.
There will be a work day Sept. 17th 8:00am to 2:00pm - no riding during these hours.
There will be a Fun Ride Sept. 18th 10:00am to 3:00pm. Like last time, the MX track and flat track are not planned to be a part of the course therefore riders may these areas while everyone else will be using the woods. Riders may start or stop any time during the designated hours but, all riders will be required to stay on the marked course.
There will be District 17 AMA sanctioned Hare Scramble Race hosted by the DirtRiders on October 2nd at Oakford. Race Starts at noon.
The Charity Team Race is scheduled for Nov. 13th.
The club is seeking business donations for the Charity Race.
Volunteers are needed to help at the District and Charity races. Contact John Gepford, Raymond Devlin, Jay Hall or Steve Arteman for info or directions.
The MX track extension needs tree trimming and material removal. Contact Tom Robinson for instructions. Tom also stated that the wire decking on the bridges is coming loose and needs re-stapled. Easy for work time for anyone willing to do it.
Your last opportunity to get work time before the Oct. meeting is Oct. 3rd.
There was a collision on MX track between two 4-wheelers going in opposite directions. Temporary directional signs have been put up. Please do not ride the WRONG WAY and always ride with caution.
The next meeting will be October 4th at the club grounds. There will be election of officers and membership renewals. After renewals are processed, waiting list applicants will be processed and then new applicants will be considered. The gate lock will be changed at the end of the Oct. meeting.
