About Us

DIRTRIDERS, INC. is a private Off-Road motorcycle club that has been in existence for over 30 years. The Club is located a few miles Northeast of Decatur Illinois. The Club covers approximately 60 acres which is leased from Mr.Eugene Timmerman, who inherited it from his father and who was the original land owner.

In order to be a member one must pay the membership fee and agree to work a minimum of six hours at Club functions and attend four meetings each membership year. DIRTRIDERS, INC. is a family oriented club and a Common/Family membership includes all immediate members of a family (persons over 18 years of age must obtain their own membership) any family member can contribute to completing the requirements of membership.

Membership is open to those who ride off-road motorcycles and are involved in hare scramble, moto-cross, trials or other types of off-road riding or competition. Membership is a privilege and can be lost by inappropriate behavior or failure to adhere to the established rules..

Starting in the spring and continuing through the fall there is a "Fun Ride" held on every third Sunday of the month. This is a non-competitive ride on a Hare Scramble type course. This is a good chance to try out your Hare Scrambles skills. The highlight of the year is the annual "Big Brothers, Big Sisters Charity Race" held each November. John Gepford has been organizing this event for several years and it has continued to be favorite event for many riders in the area.

For the past three years Dirtriders has hosted an AMA sanctioned Observed Trials. We have been privileged to have Ryan Young, six time national champion to conduct a school the day before the trials and then ride the trials the next day as an exhibition. Several members worked this event, had a great time and are looking forward to working it again.

The club also hosts at least one District 17 Hare Scrambles each year, these events were formerly held on the club grounds but in recent years they have been held on a larger property in Oakford.

The club has a new website:
